For more information on the optional events being offered, please see below:

  • Urban Systems is hosting an optional workshop on Wednesday April 24 from 2pm – 4pm. The workshop is a Deeper Dive on DAAPR-i (i.e. Development Applications & Approvals Processes Reviews and improvements). The current housing shortage and recent amendments to legislation require us to rethink our approach to staff delegation, processing applications and financing growth related infrastructure. The intent of this deeper dive into development application process improvements is intended for those that are looking to: improve and streamline processes, ensure procedural consistency despite staff turnover, strengthen corporate records management, build trusting industry relationships and improve customer service. Urban Systems has worked extensively with the District of Invermere and across BC with small towns, resort communities, and larger urban centres on a variety of development application process improvements and would like to share our lessons learned.

  • The welcome reception is being held at Nelson’s Museum, Archives and Gallery. We will be offering an optional tour before the reception of the Museum and the Cold War bunker. For more information please see the Nelson Museum website.
