Member Recognition Awards

and Nomination Form

Peer recognition is one of our most valuable ways of ensuring continued excellence throughout the local government management profession

Do you know of a local government colleague who has exemplified professional leadership, innovation or community and volunteer service? LGMA member awards highlight extraordinary accomplishments and dedicated service to the local government profession. LGMA members are encouraged to nominate those members who are deserving of such recognition. Award winners will be announced on June 13 at our 2024 Annual Conference.

This year, we are looking to celebrate the many achievements of our members with two new awards categories!

  • Most Impactful New Professional Award
  • Celebrating the accomplishment, dedication, and spirit of a new professional working in local government under 5 years, and
  • Regional Chapter Award
  • Recognizing excellence in supporting local government professionals within their region.

These new awards categories will further complement existing LGMA Member Awards:

  • Distinguished Member
  • Professional Service
  • Distinguished Partner

Nominations are open until May 3, 2024.

Individuals may be nominated by:

(a) a member of the Board;

(b) a Chief Administrative Officer of a BC local government;

(c) the Regional Chapter Executive (Please see Membership Policy for exceptions relating to the Regional Chapter Awards criteria); or

(d) two Members who are Regular Members or Life Members

Please review the Membership Policy (section 3, Awards for Members) before you complete the Nomination Form to ensure the Award is well matched with your nomination.

In a separate document, please describe the member's achievements that are to be recognized and how the member has fulfilled the criteria for the chosen award nomination, why it is important and how the nominee's actions have contributed to the profession or practice of local government. Nominations should be between 1 and 3 pages. See below to attach document.
