Administrative Professionals Conference November 4-6, 2026 Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort, Victoria, BC If you are an Executive Assistant, Office Coordinator, Supervisor, Clerk or Front-line staff working in BC local or First Nations government organizations, this conference has been designed for you. Opportunities to network with peers, discuss important issues of common concern and develop strategies to address them, plus a few wellness activities will be included. This program is under development and registration is not currently open. 2026 Program Fees: Early Bird Rate until October 12, 2026: $1,058.75 + GST Regular Rate starting October 13, 2026: $1,119.25 + GST Hotel Accommodations: Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort hotel group rates: $249 + taxes. These rates are based on a first-come, first served basis until the group block is full. A smaller number of pre-conference rooms have been blocked with the same rate. Reservations must be made by October 9, 2026 Closer to the event, participants can book their own accommodations via the hotel reservation passkey link. $500 Travel Grant: Through financial support from Lidstone & Company Law Corporation, and Young Anderson, two travel grants in the amount of $500 are available for eligible local government and First Nation professionals travelling to the Admin Conference. February 17-19, 2026 Westin Wall Centre, Richmond, BC Weathering Change Registration is limited to CAOs and appointed Deputy CAOs. CAO Forum sessions can be used towards Continuous Professional Learning credits. The CAO Forum is an annual offering for local government chief administrative officers (CAOs) to connect, share experiences and in-depth discussions on key topics impacting their work. The Forum will feature interactive, two-way discussions with speakers on subjects of interest to local governments and provide an excellent opportunity for frank and open dialogue. This year’s theme, Weathering Change, will provide a lineup of interactive sessions with expert speakers covering topics such as leading with compassion, strategic plans, emergency service cost management, legal updates, and more. A pre-forum workshop is also offered. Pre-forum workshop: The CAOs’ Compass for General Local Elections Fees: $231 + GST, members, $258.50 + GST, non-members Register separately for the pre-forum workshop. 2026 CAO Dinner Sunday, September 13, 2026 Vancouver, BC Registration is not yet opened for this event. The LGMA will hold a CAO Dinner as a chance to connect with colleagues during UBCM week in Vancouver, BC. The LGMA is proud to carry forward and facilitate a space for peer-learning that was originally championed by CAOs within the sector. Hosted by LGMA President and long-standing member, Ron Poole. CAOs and Deputy CAOs are invited to attend with partners and spouses. This is a networking dinner from 6 - 9 PM. Since 2006, this educational offering has focused on emerging trends and legal and legislative changes of relevance to BC local government Corporate Officers. First Nations and Local Government Land Use Planning Regional Workshop Understanding and Sharing Land Use Frameworks May 5 - 7, 2026 House of Ancestors, Prince George, BC Registration is not yet opened for 2026. Please review the following event information for reference only. Registration is reserved for planners, administrators, and land use managers working in First Nations and local governments in the North BC region. Since BC’s adoption of the Declaration Act (DRIPA) in 2019, there have never been better opportunities for collaboration and relationship building between First Nations and local government administrators. With the support of the Fraser Basin Council (FBC), the Local Government Management Association (LGMA) and First Nations Public Service Secretariat (FNPSS) have been jointly developing and delivering a series of land use planning regional workshops – and are now hosting a second regional workshop for the North BC region ! In the spirit of collaboration and knowledge-sharing, we strongly encourage planners and administrators interested in this workshop to reach out and invite their First Nations/local government counterparts they work with to attend the workshop together.
