Administrative Professionals Conference November 4-6, 2026 Motivation in Motion Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort, Victoria, BC This conference is designed for the administrative professional working in the BC local and First Nations government organizations who support senior level staff. If you're an administrative or executive assistant, office coordinator, clerk, or front-line staff, you play an important administrative role to your team and members of the community. This exciting conference will provide excellent networking and information sharing opportunities for all levels of administrative support staff working in BC local and First Nation government organizations. Registration is limited to CAOs and appointed Deputy CAOs. CAO Forum sessions can be used towards Continuous Professional Learning credits. The CAO Forum is an annual offering for local government chief administrative officers (CAOs) to connect, share experiences and in-depth discussions on key topics impacting their work. The Forum will feature interactive, two-way discussions with speakers on subjects of interest to local governments and provide an excellent opportunity for frank and open dialogue. This year’s theme, Weathering Change, will provide a lineup of interactive sessions with expert speakers covering topics such as leading with compassion, strategic plans, emergency service cost management, legal updates, and more. A pre-forum workshop is also offered. Pre-forum workshop: The CAOs’ Compass for General Local Elections Fees: $231 + GST, members, $258.50 + GST, non-members Register separately for the pre-forum workshop. Corporate Officer Forum November 25-27, 2026 Westin Wall Centre, Richmond, BC Attendance is reserved for Corporate Officers and Deputy Corporate Officers only. Since 2006, this educational offering has focused on emerging trends and legal and legislative changes of relevance to BC local government Corporate Officers. If you’re a Corporate Officer, you know what it means to juggle legislation, leadership, and logistics—often all at once. First Nations and Local Government Land Use Planning Regional Workshop Understanding and Sharing Land Use Frameworks May 5 - 7, 2026 House of Ancestors, Lheidli T’enneh territory (Prince George, BC) Expanded eligibility – registrants from all regions now accepted due to additional space available. Since BC’s adoption of the Declaration Act (DRIPA) in 2019, there have never been better opportunities for collaboration and relationship building between First Nations and local government administrators. With the support of the Fraser Basin Council (FBC), the Local Government Management Association (LGMA) and First Nations Public Service Secretariat (FNPSS) have been jointly developing and delivering a series of land use planning regional workshops – and are now hosting a third and final regional workshop. In the spirit of collaboration and knowledge-sharing, we strongly encourage planners and administrators interested in this workshop to reach out and invite their First Nations/local government counterparts they work with to attend the workshop together. Program Eligibility: The content of this regional workshop is specifically curated for the Northern BC region . To ensure equitable access to the workshop, we limit registration to two (2) seats per organization . If you wish to register more than 2 individuals from your organization or wish to attend but do not meet the criteria, please contact LGMA Office at office@lgma.ca to express your interest. Registration: Review the workshop brochure and register online by April 21, 2026. Seats are limited to 28 First Nations and 28 Local Government employees. Early Bird registration rate until March 24, 2026 : $810.70 + GST Regular registration rate starting March 25, 2026 : $859.10 + GST Fees for attending the workshop, include daytime meals. Participants are required to make their own hotel accommodations. First Nations participants are eligible for bursaries .
