March 11, 2010
Institute of Public Administration of Canada
The Victoria and Vancouver Regional Groups of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) are pleased to invite you to nominate exceptional public servants for the annual Lieutenant Governor's Silver Medal Award for Excellence in Public Administration in British Columbia (the Silver Medal).
The Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia is the patron of the award, which recognizes the exceptional achievement of a public servant who has shown distinctive leadership in public administration.
The Silver Medal pays tribute to public sector practitioners whose careers exhibit the highest standards of excellence, dedication and accomplishment. It recognizes an outstanding individual to underscore the efforts of creative, highly-skilled public administrators working in the public sector. Further, Silver Medal recognizes outstanding contributions made over a sustained period rather than any single initiative.
The
Silver Medal is open to public administrators from all levels of government and
the greater public sector in British
Columbia. Nominations will be accepted until April
19, 2010.
Details on the selection criteria, selection process and submitting a nomination package can be found here.
Past
local government award recipients include Ken Dobell (Vancouver),
Judy Rogers (Vancouver), George Paul (Prince George), Jim Craven (Municipal Finance Authority)
and Ron Born(Kelowna).
Local government educator Linn Teetzel (Capilano University)
also has received the medal.
The Local Government Management Association is a proud sponsor of the Lieutenant Governor's Silver Medal Award.
