Records Management Manual & Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Toolkit Workshop

November 14, 2017, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Pacific Gateway Hotel, Richmond, BC

The business of record keeping for local governments is an enduring mandate, and changes in requirements create a need for constant review. LGMA’s Records Management Manual for Local Government Organizations, underwent another major update and a new 5th Edition, 2017, will be available in early September.

LGMA’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Toolkit also underwent updates and in early September a new 4th Edition, 2017, of this essential Toolkit will also be available. This Toolkit expands upon the existing chapters and includes new chapters to address emerging issues in this field.

Join knowledgeable experts in each of these fields for a one-day facilitated workshop and receive an overview of the updated respective manuals which will provide key information that local government officials should know with respect to their responsibilities in both Records Management and FOIPPA practices.

  • Morning Session 9 a.m. - Noon: Updates on the 5th Edition, 2017, Records Management Manual
  • Afternoon Session 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Updates on the 4th Edition, 2017, FOIPPA Toolkit

Labour Negotiations Workshop

Bylaw Drafting & Interpretation Workshop

This workshop is open to all local government employees. It is being offered as the pre-conference workshop at Clerks and Corporate Officers Forum in Victoria, BC, at the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort.

This full day workshop is open to anyone who works in local government. It will provide attendees with vital information that every local government official should know about the bylaw drafting process and how to make your local government's bylaws effective, understandable, lawful and enforceable.
