Webinar objectives include:
  • Present information to local government staff so they can provide relevant, practical, clear and simple information to elected officials on how to conduct business as it relates to FOIPPA and records management. Topics include a discussion on elected officials using personal/local government emails and calendars, and using social media. What does it mean that records are the custody of their local government? Help elected officials understand how FOI applies: what is private information and what is public.
  • Provide template material (customizable PowerPoint and takeaway handouts) that can be used by local government staff back in their community to offer training sessions to their elected officials.
Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions during the webinar.
