Webinars and Online Courses

The LGMA provides webinar offerings and online courses to local government staff with up-to-date information on a variety of topics throughout the year. Webinar fees are $175 per person plus taxes unless otherwise noted. Online courses are priced separately. Registration will take place through LGMA MyAccount and is open to members and non-members.

2019 Webinar and Online Courses:

Cybersecurity webinars offered in partnership with the Province of BC Office of the Chief Information Officer.

  • Thursday, February 21 - Webinar: Defensibility Security
  • Thursday, February 28 - Webinar: How to Avoid Being Phished

Both webinars are from 10 - 11:30 a.m. and are only $200 per organization + GST. This webinar is open to all elected officials and staff, including outsourced IT staff. Only one registration is required per organization.

Writing Effectively Online Course - May 6 - 30, 2019

Presenters: Fiona Prince and Sonia Santarossa

This online course includes three modules, which include live, interactive webinars, assignments and coaching. Participants attend the webinars; review additional resource documents and participate in on-line discussions; work on the assignments on their own time; and, submit their assignments for review, coaching and direct feedback before the next assignments are due.

Cost is $590 + GST LGMA Member; $615 + GST Non-member.

Course Format

The course is presented in a webinar format with registrants participating via a toll-free telephone line and their computer in an on-line webinar conference. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the webinar. Information will be sent to registered participants one day prior.
