Policy 010: Agenda Management
POLICY STATEMENT:
It is the policy of the LGMA to finalize the agenda for regular Board of Directors meetings 7 calendar days prior to the date of the meeting.
POLICY BACKGROUND:
The staff of the LGMA has been sending out agenda packages to directors
in advance of regular meetings. Late items are frequently added to the agenda, and the addition of such items has, on occasion, caused Directors to feel pressured to make decisions without adequate time for consideration.
POLICY GOAL:
- To charge the Executive Director with the responsibility of finalizing the agenda for Board of Directors meetings 7 days prior to the date of the meeting.
- To distribute the agenda and supporting documentation immediately following the finalizing of the agenda.
- To list any items received after the agenda has been finalized on a resolution to add late items to the agenda.
