Ken Watson


Ken is the City Manager (CAO) for the City of Port Alberni. He has worked for the City for 25 years starting as Manager of Public Works then moving to City Engineer and finally to his current role. Prior to moving to Port Alberni, Ken worked in the City of Vancouver Engineering Department.

During his career Ken has always taken an active role in professional organizations related to his job. This started with committee work for the BC Water and Waste Association, and continued with presentations at MATI Foundations, Committee Chair for the MMCD Association, Director on the Municipal Engineers Division of APEGBC, President of VILGMA and most recently, Vancouver Island Chapter Representative for the LGMA.

Ken graduated with a Civil Engineering Degree from UBC and is registered as a Professional Engineer in BC. Ken is also a graduate of the Banff School of Management's Municipal Management Program.
